Firefighters battle house fire in Porter
The Porter Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 100 block of East Main Street on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported at 4:37 p.m. and firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the house.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to any other structures.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No injuries reported
No injuries were reported in the fire.
The fire department is reminding residents to be careful with candles and other open flames.
They also recommend having a fire extinguisher in your home and making sure your smoke detectors are working.
