Josh Kerr: Team GB star and 1500m world champion
Kerr ready for Olympic glory
Tough battle with Ingebrigtsen at Paris 2024
Josh Kerr, Great Britain's 1500m world champion, is confident he can beat anyone at this summer's Olympics.
The 26-year-old from Edinburgh won gold in the 1500m at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, last year, beating Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen in a thrilling finish.
Kerr says he is now in the best shape of his life and is ready to take on the world's best in Paris.
"I'm feeling really confident at the moment," said Kerr. "I've been training hard and I'm in the best shape of my life. I know it's going to be tough, but I believe I can win gold."
Kerr's main rival in Paris will be Ingebrigtsen, the Norwegian who won gold in the 1500m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The two runners have a long history of competing against each other, and Kerr says he is looking forward to their next battle.
"Jakob is a great runner, but I know I can beat him," said Kerr. "I've beaten him before, and I can do it again."
The 1500m final at the Olympics is one of the most anticipated events of the Games, and Kerr says he is excited to be part of it.
"It's going to be an amazing experience," said Kerr. "I can't wait to represent Great Britain and to try to win gold."
