Heavy Rains Cause Dam Breach
On July 26th, 2022, a secondary dam on the city reservoir in Nashville, Illinois overtopped after over four inches of rain fell in the area in less than 12 hours. The overtopping caused a 6-foot breach in the dam, leading to an immediate evacuation order for approximately 200 residents living downstream.
