Oilers Force Game 7 in Stanley Cup Final

Historic Comeback Continues with 5-1 Game 6 Victory

Edmonton on Brink of Unprecedented Triumph Over Panthers

In a stunning turn of events, the Edmonton Oilers have forced a decisive Game 7 in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final after trailing 3-0 in the series to the Florida Panthers. The Oilers' improbable comeback was sealed with a 5-1 victory in Game 6, keeping their championship hopes alive.

Sergei Bobrovsky was a brick wall in net for the Oilers, stopping all 32 shots he faced to earn the shutout. Carter Verhaeghe scored the game-winning goal, while Sam Bennett notched an assist and delivered an impressive 11 hits. Kailer Yamamoto and Zach Hyman also contributed goals for Edmonton, while Evander Kane added two assists in the victory.

The Oilers' historic comeback is only the third time in NHL history that a team has rallied from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-7 Cup Final. The 1945 Red Wings and 2014 Kings are the only other teams to accomplish this feat, but both teams ultimately lost in Game 7. The Oilers now have the chance to make history of their own and etch their names in the annals of hockey.
